Olympics 2008

I love watching the olympics, I have been trying to keep up with my favorite athletes and keeping my hands busy with my crafts. I feel like I've seen some unfair scoring but I suppose thats how things go when you are depending opinions of other human beings. But in any case, I can't believe Michael Phelps won 8 golds in one Olympics setting a new world record!! I am so proud of our athletes! Especially Shawn Johnson, Nastia Lukin, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh and of course Michael Phelps.

I have no new postings for my etsy site on this post however I am having an Olympic sale- 20% off Everything! so grab something while you can!

Organic bath mitt

I found a cute pattern for a wash mitt. So I picked up some premium blue sky alpacas 100% organically grown cotton yarn in shell pink and fern green and started knitting. Its fun and cute. I changed the pattern a bit because at first the head came out too pointy and the legs seemed too long. Oh and I added 2 more legs because the pattern only had 6 legs and its supposed to be an octupus... so. In any case here is the final project

and of course you can find it on etsy Here

Headbands!

I knit two headbands
One with a thick cable going down the middle in cream
I really like the yarn I used, its one of those speckled ones
Then I made a skinny headband since skinny seems to be all the craze these days
I added a vintage button to it
They are really cute
I added them to etsy here

Crochet Amigurumi

So I've crochet some amigurumis. They are these super cute crochet animals. Amigurumi means crochet animals in Japanese. I'm obsessed with them now. I've been hanging them all over the house and keys and bags etc.. I've tried couple of patterns and created a couple of my own. I've put some of them on my etsy site for sale. You can find them here!

Organic cotton yarn

I got some super soft organic yarn today and I created some various items. I was finally able to knit the scarf I've had the pattern for and it turned out wonderful. I really like this pattern because its so simple and cute.  I also made some facial scrubbies. Twelve of them to be exact. I love these things. You just use them and wash them and let them dry and they're ready to use again and again. Much better than wasting all of those circular cotton things. I'm giving a set of them to mom this weekend. I've put these up on etsy. Take a look. Here

Heart and metal

I brought out my old jewelry making set today and created some pieces. I found some really pretty heart and key pendants so I turned them into necklaces and keychains. I'm really excited about them. I haven't done much jewelry making lately. I made 5 pieces, 2 I'm keeping for myself and 3 of them are on sale at etsy. You can find those here.
